Introducing the CAT Position

When it comes to sex, it may be safe to say that everybody would like to reach orgasm – but it is not always easy to get there. Especially for vulva-owners, climaxing has proven to be more inaccessible than to people with penises. There is one sex position however, that as a vulva-owner may help you do just that: the CAT position.

This sex position has nothing to do with the yoga posture – CAT stands for Coital Alignment Technique, roughly translating as “position of sexual agreement.”

How to CAT?

In order to come into CAT, the vulva-owner lies on their back (as in missionary) with their partner lying on top of them. With a strap-on or their penis, their partner proceeds to penetration. The person lying then presses their legs tightly together. At that moment, the one penetrating should carefully push themself upwards until their pelvic bones lay on top of their partner’s. Then, the excitement begins: the person penetrating should slowly rub their pelvis against their partner’s, inducing an automatic movement of their partner beneath. Some slightly circular movements will increase stimulation.

How Does CAT Work?

Thanks to this sex position, vulva-owners are one step closer to reach orgasm. This is because of a special stimulus that happens with this sex position: the pubic bones of the person on top press against the clitoris and move rhythmically. Which means that, not only there is vaginal stimulation through penetration, but clitoral stimulation too – the most erogenous zone for vulva-owners. You might want to add a pillow under the receiver’s hips, this will help stimulate their G-Spot.

As with most new sexual experiences, it may take some time to coordinate and get started. A little rhythm practice can work wonders, and both partners can play with each other and their movements, so that the excitement and the chances of reaching orgasm can only increase.

Backed by Science

The particularly exciting effect of this position has been scientifically proven. According to a study by “The Journal of Sex and Marriage Therapy,” 56% of vulva-owners are more likely to cum in the CAT position than in a regular missionary.

The CAT position offers great rewards and with quite little effort. Due to its particularly intense and close physical contact, as well as its coordinated rhythm, a simultaneous orgasm for both parties is possible and well in reach – YES!
